Jan Baars, University of Humanistic Studies, Utrecht

Jan Baars, PhD, is Professor of Aging and the Life Course at the University of Humanistic Studies, Utrecht. As a social theorist and philosopher, he focuses on conceptual analyses of theoretical and practical approaches to aging. He has published extensively about critical gerontology and concepts of time in the- ories of aging. His most recent book is Aging and the Art of Living, published by Johns Hopkins University Press. He is presently chair of the Humanities and Arts Section of the Gerontological Society of America. Readers may visit www.janbaars.nl.
